Lil Kim released a statement today (June 30) to confirm reports of her release from Philadelphia's Federal Detention Center next week.
As SOHH previously reported, Kim (Born Kimberley Jones) will be released from the aforementioned facility on Monday, July 3, between 6 and 10 a.m.
The Brooklyn bred rapper was sentenced to a one year and a day sentence last year, after she was found guilty of perjury and conspiracy for lying to a grand jury in relation to a 2001 shooting involving Capone-N-Noreaga and Kim's crew in front of New York radio station Hot 97.
"I am thrilled to be coming home," stated Kim via a statement. "I thank all my fans for all their letters, as well as my family and friends for all their support throughout the past ten months."
After her release on Monday, Kim will be taken to an undisclosed New Jersey location for processing and will begin serving a month's house arrest at her North Jersey home.
"We are pleased that Kim is coming home to start the next phase of her life. She has accepted responsibility and handled herself in an exemplary manner." stated Kim's lawyer, L. Londell McMillan.
Lil Kim was initially scheduled to be released in August but was granted an earlier release due to good behavior. During her incarceration, Kim released her fourth album, The Naked Truth.
She was also the main focus of a BET reality show this spring titled "Lil Kim: Countdown to Lockdown". The 6 episode series captured the rapper's final days of freedom before reporting to jail.
